Second Orchestral Residential

On the weekend of the 15th September the Love Music Trust held their second Orchestral Residential trip to the Conway Centre, Anglesey. Thirty Gifted and Talented Students were joined by the LMT team, Conductor Russell Gray. For some of the students who had never before played in an orchestra it was a brand new experience however they were joined by a number of student who had attended the first residential, everyone got to work together in a very inspiring and exciting way. During the ten hours of rehearsals the students were split into sectionals and specialist tutors were on hand to give them support and guidance. Everyone was also able to enjoy either mountain biking, via ferrata or paddle boarding. On the Saturday evening we spent time in the yurt at the centre toasting marshmallows whilst some members of the LMT Folk ensemble along with djembes played the tunes for some much loved campfire songs! We returned on Sunday afternoon to perform to a packed audience, pieces included Mazurka from Swan Lake and a medley from Pirates of the Caribbean as well as other well-known orchestral pieces at Sandbach School. It was a great weekend; thank you to everyone involved. We look forward to seeing you again next year.
