Royal Cheshire ShowOn Wednesday 20th June 2018, the Love Music Trust was at the Royal Cheshire Show where sixteen Cheshire East schools had the opportunity to showcase their musical talents. Come and Play with the HalléOn Tuesday 19th June, over 1,400 young musicians from 43 Cheshire East schools made their way to Manchester's Bridgewater Hall to participate in the 2018 Come and Play with the Hallé series. In keeping with this year's dance-related theme, Strictly Hallé, the orchestra made a 'showbiz' entrance to the hall, walking amongst the young players in the Stalls on their way to the stage. For many pupils, this was the first opportunity they had to hear an orchestra live and 'in person' and the Hallé, under conductor Jonathan Heyward, certainly didn't disappoint! Music from Dvorak (Slavonic Dances), Copland (Hoedown from Rodeo) and Marquez (Danza No. 2) was included in the programme alongside two pieces which the children played alongside the orchestra (Perez Prado's Mambo Number 5 and Tchaikovsky's Waltz of the Flowers from The Nutcracker).
