Learn to be a songwriter in 5 weeks!

Aimed at 11-19 year olds this exciting opportunity will give you the chance to learn how to write your own song and produce a recording of it.

In just 5 weeks expert songwriter Jay Stannard will work with you as part of a small group, through the process of writing, performing and recording your own song. At the end of the 5 sessions you will have a recording of your own song as a performance and backing track as well as a piano / guitar vocal score.

Jay Stannard is a vocal animateur, composer and tutor from Cheshire. He’s toured in a band signed to a major record label, played live on BBC Radio and has worked with young composers and songwriters for 14 years.

His large scale music video YouTube projects include ‘Free to Fly’, ‘Back to Life’ and the 2022 initiative ‘Let’s Go Zero’ song. He also recently worked with a school group to compose two pieces for the Chester Canon Songwriting Competition, winning first and second place.

He currently works freelance as well as tutoring for the Love Music Trust, directs Sandbach Young Voices and co-directs the Cheshire East Youth Choir.

The cost of this 5 week course is only £150 and will take place at the Love Music Trust Office on Bradwall Road in Sandbach and will run on Wednesday evenings between 5:15pm and 6:15pm. The course will start in the Autumn Term and run for 5 consecutive Wednesday's.

All equipment will be provided, but feel free to bring along your own instrument if you would like to.
