Continuation

What is Continuation?

The National Plan for Music Education states that every music education hub must:

"Ensure that clear progression routes are available and affordable to all young people."

What we offer

Every school in Cheshire East can benefit from:

  • Grant support to support children to continue their learning after First Access
  • Subsidised instrument hire, with remission of fees for those who need it

A variety of models

We support and deliver a wide range of continuation models including:

  • Large Group Continuation - a 'stepping stone' from whole class to small group or individual tuition
  • Small Group and Individual Tuition - 'traditional' music tuition
  • Extra-curricular groups and clubs in school
  • An additional year group receiving First Access - especially helpful for small schools with mixed cohort classes who can combine their First Access and Continuation grants

Don't miss out!

Apply for a grant via the Schools Gateway.

The application window opens around February half-term and applications can made up until the end of the summer term for the following year.

Schools who already receive grant support will be invited to renew their hub partnership agreement and do not need to make a new application online.

Schools who have not claimed their grant will be contacted by letter. We also publicise the availability of the grants in the Cheshire East schools' bulletin.
