On Saturday 21st January the Love Music Trust welcomed colleagues to the Fallibroome Academy to take part in a thoroughly engaging and rewarding conducting workshop.
Leading the afternoon's activities was Russell Gray who is currently holding posts of Adjunct Professor at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music (Australia), Principal Conductor of the Cambrian Philharmonic Orchestra (Wales), Musical Director of the National Youth Brass Band of Scotland, and President of the National Association of Brass Band Conductors.
On the day delegates had the opportunity to work not only with Russell but also the award winning Crewe Cooperative Wind Band who were recently awarded Gold at the National Youth Wind Band festival. Six delegates with a range of conducting experience from complete beginner to those that have been working with bands for years took part, learning and practicing a wide range of skills and techniques.
